One Way The Keep Going Workshop Encouraged Me

On January 8th, I virtually attended the Keep Going Workshop put on by Nika Maples. Nika Maples is a Christian Author, Speaker, Life Coach and more. Before I tell you how the workshop was a encouragement to me, I need to tell you how Nika and I got acquainted.

I had the opportunity to meet Nika at a writing conference in October of 2019. After I met her, I knew I needed her encouragement and influence in my life. I could probably talk for hours about how she has impacted my life. Nika encourages others to keep going in whatever stage of life they are in.

This is a goal setting workshop, where Nika encouraged us to set God-centered goals in the areas of home, health, finance, relationship, and skill. To find out more about Nika Maples and the Keep Going Workshop click here.

I really enjoyed the time called “Be still and listen to the Lord.” Nika asked us to write down a list completing this phrase, “God, You are the only one who.” Nika said, “It is futile to make goals without asking the Lord to strengthen and prepare you in advance by giving you a refreshed vision of your identity. He knows you better than anyone.”

So after I heard this phrase , “God, You are the only one who.” I wrote down this list.

• Knows my voice.

• Understands what I go through day by day.

• How many songs I sing everyday.

• Never tires from my questions.

• Never gets impatient with me.

• Never gets tired of my cry.

• Knows how many tears I’ve cried.

• Really enjoys my “seal” laugh.

• Knows how many times I’ve fallen.

• Knows how many nights I’ve felt alone.

This was a very helpful/emotional exercise for me. I hope this exercise helps you get a fresh perspective of how the Lord looks at you.

At the end of the workshop the song, “You Know Me Better” was sung over us as we prayed silently. You all know how much music speaks to my soul and moves me to tears. Well, that’s what this song did when I heard it. I hope the words will encourage you.

“You Know Me Better”

Can’t wrap my mind around the way
You see me like gold
You stand in my mess, You call out the best in me
When my mind gets crowded with the lies I’m told
You tell me the truth, You show me that You believe in me
You believe in me

You know me as honest
You know me as good
You know me the way that I wish I could
You know me worthy
You know me love
You know me better

When I don’t know where to find me
Show me where to start
Show me who You are
So I know who I am
‘Cause You know who I am

You know me completely
You know me through
You know me as someone who looks like You
You know me perfect,
You know me strong
You know me better

You know me as honest,
You know me as good
You know me the way that I wish I could
You know me worthy
You know me love
You know me better

I am who You say I am
I am who You say I am
Your word will never change
I am who You say I am
I am who You say I am
I am who You say I am
Your word will never change
I am who You say I am

You know me as honest
You know me as good
(I am who You say I am)
You know me the way that I wish I could
(I am who You say I am)
You know me worthy,
You know me love
(Your word will never change)
You know me better
(I am who You say I am)
Oh, You know, You know

You know me completely
You know me through
(I am who You say I am)
You know me as someone who looks like You
(I am who You say I am)
You know me perfect
You know me strong
(Your word will never change)
You know me better
(I am who You say I am)
I am who You say I am
Your word will never change
I am who You say I am

“For God is my witness, how I long for you all with the affection of Christ Jesus. And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in real knowledge and all discernment, so that you may approve the things that are excellent, in order to be sincere and blameless until the day of Christ; having been filled with the fruit of righteousness which comes through Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.”-Philippians 1:8-11.

Thank you for your openness and vulnerability. You have captured some of God’s secrets in your writing and in sharing your heart.

I pray a blessing on you for entering into your heart depths and for the joy He will be producing in you as you herd His voice speaking to you.

I love the challenge to consider the things that only God knows about me. I love that it doesn’t have to be all negative. It can be very special. It shows that he’s very intimately interested in me. How wonderful!! Only God truly knows all my quirks and uniquenesses and isn’t put out by them. Only God knows how I praise Him and cry out to Him and He welcomes it. What a blessing!! Thank you for your thoughts!

P.S. I love to hear your “seal” laugh too!! It is music to my ears.❤️🎶
